Derrick Rose is putting his name in the MVP listing

I’ve said this over and over in the last few weeks, Derrick Rose is a top MVP candidate, want to know why…

Not only is he in the top 10 in the NBA in points with 24  and assists with 8 per game, but he is leading the Chicago Bulls to a 20-10 record, could be 21-10 after the on-going Bulls-Nets game, which gives them third place in the Eastern Conference.

Rose is the main reason the Bulls continue to lead the league in average attendance with 20 thousand plus. Even the two-time defending champions the Los Angeles Lakers can’t match the fan support of Rose and the Bulls.

Check out this well produced video of Rose’s 2010 highlights.

I know some of them are from last season, but those clips are the ground work for what the man is doing this season.

D-Rose for MVP.

Bulls under the radar and look good heading into easy schedule

The Chicago Bulls have won 11 of their last 13 games to help their cause of being an elite team in the Eastern Conference. Chicago is currently third in the conference and have a commanding seven game lead in the central division.

Derrick Rose is playing at an MVP level, Carlos Boozer is at an all-star level and if he didn’t tear ligaments in his thumb Joakim Noah would be an all-star also.

With everything on the up and up in Chicago, it’s only going to look better as eight of the next ten games are against teams under .500.

New Orleans stays undefeated

Saturday NBA action didn’t have many story lines as the great teams destroyed bad or mediocre teams. The New Orleans Hornets stayed undefeated, the San Antonio Spurs continue to impress and Indiana Pacer Danny Granger led the NBA in scoring with 34 points while defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Other than that, nothing too exciting except I did well on my NBA picks, almost undefeated if it wasn’t for Granger.

Indiana Surprises the World

Tuesday, the Indiana Pacers went off in the third quarter against the Denver Nuggets, shooting 20-of-21 from the field and scoring 54 points. They would have broken a record with a 20-for-20 perfect quarter, but Josh McRoberts missed a three-point basket late with 40 seconds left on the clock.

The Pacers tore it up, but unfortunately, I thought the game would go the other way for the Nuggets because no one would ever think the Pacers would shoot as good as they did. Mike Dunleavy had 24 points in the third quarter alone and finished with 31 points for the night.

Lets see how the rest of the night went around the League.

Knicks back court and Thunder studs go crazy

Thursday there were only two games on the NBA schedule, so usually it would be reasonable to think I could finish the day with .500 on NBA picks. Nope, not with the New York Knicks shooting 16-of-24 from the three-point line and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scoring 28 points a piece to defeat the Portland Trailblazers in overtime.

I’m disappointed in the Bulls, favorite team, and the Blazers, one of my two bandwagon teams, couldn’t help me out. If they can’t who can, I guess Friday’s games will tell.

Thursday Results (0-2)

New York Knicks beat Chicago Bulls 120-112…Wrong, the Knicks shot the lights out of the United Center and the Bulls defense didn’t do anything.

Oklahoma City Thunder beat Portland Trailblazers 107-106 in overtime…Wrong, Durant and Westbrook took it to them.
