One and done should be one and done
There has been all kinds of talk about the NBA’s one and done rule. The rule states a player must go to college for at least one year to be eligible for the draft.
College coaches and several analysts have problems with the one and done. Oklahoma’s Head Coach Jeff Capel said it was a bad rule because it makes a mockery out of the education system. A “student-athlete” attends college to be the athlete not the student. Dick Vitale said the players not participating in their education, whether skipping classes or not getting good grades, hurts the education system at the universities. Vitale said players should not be made to go to school if they are not going to go anyway.
Others say special talents like Kobe Bryant, Lebron James or Kevin Garnett shouldn’t have to waste their time going to college when they are already a NBA star before they sign a contract.
The one and done rule should be left alone. This should be the one age requirement stipulation the NBA ever has.
Who in/ Who out West All Star Reserves
Yesterday, the East All Star team reserves were posted. Today we are going to go to the left coast and see who was rightfully choose and whose name was picked from a hat.
It is considerably harder to chose these All Stars, because the West has more stars. I like to argue and put my guys in the game, but this year, most of them were originally selected. Shame on West’s Head Coach George Karl thinking the same. He picked a solid back up squad that on paper could dominate the East’s reserves if the bench teams played a pick up game.
Rose, the first Bull’s All Star since Jordan
Chicago Bulls fans finally have someone to be proud of. Derrick Rose was named as a reserve for the NBA All Star game.
In his 2nd year in the NBA, Rose is the first Chicago Bull to be named to the team since Michael Jordan in 1998. In case you can not do math, it has been 12 YEARS.
1 win away from even record
The Bulls are finally playing up to their potential. This potential isn’t polished enough to win the NBA championship yet, but they have been making head way towards a winning season. Three weeks ago, fans were ready to stick a fork in them for the entire season.
Fortunately, the team bounced back and have been playing solid team ball. The shocking thing is most of this turn around has been on the road. Last night, the 21-22 Bulls beat the aging champions of the 25-18 San Antonio Spurs to be one win away from a .500 record. The win was the 3rd consecutive road win in the middle of a 7 game trip to the west coast.
