NBA: Chicago Bulls at Los Angeles Clippers

Tyrus Thomas and the Chicago Bulls got their wish the day of tradeline when Thomas was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats for a first round draft pick, Acie Law and Flip Murray. In the past few weeks, Thomas has reportedly argued with head coach Vinny Del Negro.  His main argument was his minutes on the court.  Thomas has had decent amount of pt at times and at other times he is hardly played.  This has happened throughout three different coaches in his three and a half seasons with the Bulls. John Salmons is no longer a Bull.  He is now a Milwaukee Buck.  The central division rivals, Bulls and the Bucks were able to negiotiate a trade with Chicago sending Salmons and recieving Hakim Warrick and Joe Alexander.

Bulls sit Salmons against Knicks

John Salmons was told he would not be playing tonight against the New York Knicks.  Sources say he will sit out because of a trade.

The Bulls do not want to risk injury to the player they supposedly have negotiated in a trae.  At this time,  the team he is being traded to is unknown.

It doesn’t matter which team it is, this is definitely a cap room trade for free agency.  Hopefully, the Bulls pick up somebody with some talent so they can have a play-off season this year.  They still need to play the end of the season out whether they are building for next year or not.

Suns want Iguodala but would settle for Deng

The Phoenix Suns and there struggle to get value for Amare Stoudemire will never end.  The Suns were reported to be after Philadelphia 76er Andre Iguodala.  The 76ers turned them down, so now they are thinking Luol Deng.

I give the Sun’s general manager and former Bull Steve Kerr, a lot of credit.  Deng would probably be a good fit for the Suns, but it would be a horrible deal for the Bulls.  I said yesterday,  getting Stoudemire would not be a good idea, especially if it involves Deng.

Celtics Allen drives on Bulls Deng in Chicago

Deng puts up 18 points a game all over the  court.   He can spot up for the three, drive in the lane and create his own shot.  The Bulls need to keep him.  Plus,  he is a solid defender and can play as a shooting guard or power forward when need be.

Trade Thomas if you wish.  I hate to see Hinrich go, but his 17 million over the next two years is reason enough to trade him.  Salmons is streaky and not a good defender, so trade him if you wish.  Do not trade Deng.

Deng would become like Ron Artest, Elton Brand and a younger Brad Miller.  We had them when they were young, traded them away and they became studs.  Deng has already developed into a decent player,  do not give away his youth for Stoudemire’s often injured body.

Question mark

John Paxson has some huge decisions in front of him.  A few of them go like: What kind of player do the Bulls need?  Who on the  Bulls current roster can they  do without?  Should they make moves for key players for next year’s team now or wait for free agency?

Lets answer a few of these.
