Another Shooter Joins the Bulls
The Chicago Bulls and free agent Keith Bogans have reportedly agreed on a two year deal worth $2.5 million.
The Bulls will be Bogans sixth team in his seven year career. He went to school at the University of Kentucky and was then drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round in 2003. He didn’t play for the Bucks, until he landed in Milwaukee in 2009, because they traded him to the Orlando Magic on draft day.
Is there anything left?
Athletes have a time span, almost like an expiration date found on a milk carton or a loaf of bread. The time span can be manipulated by different circumstances, the most influential being injuries.
Tracy McGrady has spent the last few years playing half a season and spending the other half on the injured reserve list. His left knee has been surgically repaired multiple times. Knee injuries are a very serious deal in the NBA, especially for a player who relies on his vertical when he gets to the rim or shooting his jump shot.
Miller returns to the West
The 12 year veteran is returning to the western conference after a year and a half hiatus as a Chicago Bulls. Before being traded to the windy city, Miller played for the Sacramento Kings for five and a half years.
Rosters are starting to take shape
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have found a home. Now everyone else is starting to put their John Hancock on the dotted line. The domino effect ESPN columnists and Dan Patrick have spoke about, is finally happening.
Rosters are starting to take shape, especially for the Chicago Bulls. They traded away Tyrus Thomas, John Salmons and Kirk Hinrich for expiring contracts that are now off the books and future draft picks. The Bulls are starting to build the roster and our only six days into the free agent signing period.
Boozer and Korver are officially signed. Yesterday, the Bulls signed 7 ft center Omer Asik from Turkey. Asik was originally drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in 2008, but was immediately traded to the Bulls. He has been developing for the past two years in Euroleague play. Chicago needs a big man who can defend a Dwight Howard or a Pau Gasol. Asik looks long and lengthy but is a great shot blocker. Maybe he will defend with intimidation as his best aspect; that’s what Ben Wallace did. Scouts seem to think he has solid NBA skills.
Bulls Hire Thibodeau for the Head Coaching vacancy
On Saturday afternoon, the Bulls made claim to Tom Thibodeau as their head coach for the 2010-2011 season. I say claim, because the Bulls can’t make it official until after the NBA finals because of the rules Commissioner David Stern strongly stands behind.
Either way, the Boston Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau has been hired by the Chicago Bulls to replace Vinny Del Negro.
